Chase Travaille – Exquisite Corpse

July 28, 2023 - December 12, 2023

Travaille’s recent series of collaged ceramic and 2D vessels acknowledge our strength as a whole society rather than focusing on the individual. Constructed from the shards collected from fellow ceramicists, his vessels mirror the process of reconstitution and rebirth, rebuilding and healing after the events of the past few years. Chase received his MFA from Alfred University in 2019 and was awarded the Outstanding Student Achievement in Sculpture Award from the International Sculpture Center. He has attended international residencies and finished his long-term residency at the Archie Bray Foundation in the summer of 2021, and the Community Creative Center in Fayetteville, AR in 2022-23. He currently lives and works in Little Rock, AR and is represented by the LaiSun Keane gallery located in the Sowa Art District in Boston, MA.

Exquisite Corpse is on view in the museum’s window galleries through December 12, 2023. This exhibition is accessible 24 hours a day. A public Artist Talk is scheduled for October 19, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. in the Hundley Shell Theater next door to the museum.
