Creative Illustrations – Arkansas K-12 Call For Entry

Every year the Windgate Museum of Art at Hendrix College in Conway hosts a spring exhibition of artwork from Arkansas students, grades kindergarten through twelfth based on a given theme. This upcoming spring, our theme is going to be Creative Illustrations.

Students will be asked to consider their favorite book and create their own illustration from it. This could be creating a whole new cover for a beloved book or illustrating a scene they see in their own mind’s eye while reading. The sky is the limit with a prompt like this and can easily be incorporated into a teacher’s lesson plan. Additionally, students are very welcome to work independently and submit on their own ideas not related to class assignments.
