No Man’s Land: A Feminist Reimagining examines the representation of women’s bodies in the work of eleven female artists, who explore the complex, multifarious, and often contradictory discussions that surround the concept of embodiment. Their artwork presents women’s bodies as a site of both subversion and subjugation, suggesting that the same body which denaturalizes patriarchal oppression still bends under its weight. Rather than mitigating this tension, the exhibition envelops the viewer in ambiguity, suggesting that contradiction and simultaneity are central features of women’s embodied existence.
