Join us on September 13, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. for a walking tour with Matthew Zupnick as we here all about his “Tools of the Trade” exhibition in the Wilcox / Todd Gallery at the WMA. Matthew Zupnick is a sculptor and professor at the University of Central Missouri who creates unique forms using a variety of materials and building methods. He specializes in bronze and steel and his latest series of works include his “Tools of the Trade” series of reimagined hand tools. Screwdrivers no longer turn Phillips-heads, but instead bring forth a truce among enemies, shears remind us to be more open minded, and hand drills just spin us into dizziness.
A walk through of the exhibition with Matthew Zupnick begins at 5:30 p.m. Artist’s reception and exhibitions in the Neely, Biggs, and window galleries are open until 7 p.m.
