Beginning January 2025, the Windgate Museum of Art will display K-12 student artwork which expresses the theme of Observing Nature. Inspired by the heartfelt work of Mississippi artist Walter Anderson, we’re encouraging students to submit 2D artworks in any medium that show direct observation of plants, animals, or landscapes.
All artworks should be submitted in high resolution digital format. Please, do not send in the originals. Submitted artwork will be reviewed and 80 artworks will be selected across all grades. All exhibiting students will receive an award certificate and students whose artwork is selected, as well as their families, will be honored at a reception following the exhibition opening.
Parents, guardians, and teachers of young people between kindergarten and twelfth grade are encouraged to review the submission guidelines and complete the entry form. The entry form is now open to receive submissions and will close for submissions on December 20, 2024. K-12 artists who are selected for the exhibition will be notified by January 9, 2025. We look forward to seeing all the wonderful art!
