Annual Seed Swap @ the WMA

February 15 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Sharing seeds is an opportunity to connect with the past while looking toward the future!

Join us for an awesome, free community event next Saturday, February 15th from 10am-1pm at the museum! Swap Seeds with the Community • Coffee & Potluck Lunch • Seed Bomb Making Station

All are welcome to come swap seeds at this free community event. No seeds to bring? No problem. We will have plenty to share! Please bring a dish to share at our potluck lunch! Windgate Museum of Art exhibits will be open for viewing. Parking is available at the Dawkins Welcome Center or the Library on the Hendrix campus.

When we save and share open-pollinated and heirloom seeds, we pass on the story of the plants from the previous year—the successes, the growth, and the memories we’ve created. These regionally-adapted plants help make our gardens healthier and more resilient to pests and changing weather conditions. They also carry with them the stories of family and tradition, connecting us to our land, food, and the health of our bodies. It’s a beautiful way to honor both our history and our future.

What can you expect at the swap? We’re thrilled to have gardeners of all experience levels from across Central Arkansas joining us. This event brings together seasoned farmers and gardeners as well as newcomers, offering the perfect opportunity to exchange not only seeds but stories, tips, and inspiration. It’s a wonderful way to learn, share, and support each other as we work to make our gardens thrive in the year ahead.

Whether you’re an aspiring gardener or a lifelong green thumb, we welcome you and cherish the unique contributions you bring to our community.
